Before I started Bootcamp, I felt really down about my weight. I couldn’t fit into any of my clothes & hated going out because of it – every time I got dressed I’d have a battle with my wardrobe & feel huge! Not only was I overweight but my health wasn’t in a great way either; my asthma was really bad & I had to up my steroids to try to control it, I was getting headaches regularly, had bad eczema & generally feeling awful!
I was extremely nervous about starting the sessions; I thought it would be like other classes I’d been to where you always feel people are looking at you thinking ‘Ha look at that new fat girl struggling away!’ and that I’d be embarrassed about how unfit I was & how much I’d have to use my Inhalor in my first session, was I wearing the right thing….the list goes on! However, as soon as I stepped through the door I was welcomed & all those worries disappeared. The girls (as it is ladies only – which I love!) were so kind to me & celebrated my small successes (in comparison to theirs!) every week.
The social side has helped to keep me going & although people change in our group, that same warm feeling remains & I look forward to Tuesdays & Thursdays. I started out wanting to lose weight but have actually made some fantastic friends along the way. The exercise – you can take it at your own pace & Petra is really good at differentiating levels of exercise to suit each member. The food – It’s not a diet, it’s a clean up of your lifestyle. It was hard to get my head around but the manual explains it really well & it’s actually scary what rubbish you put into your body without you even realising!
The best part of my journey so far would have to be several things! The improvement in my health has been great, the amount of cm that have dropped from my body & feeling proud wearing a bikini on my holiday several weeks ago whilst oozing beach goddess confidence (almost!). If you are thinking of coming to Bootcamp for any reason, all I can say is DO IT! It’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I usually start classes and have given up within a month.
You have to give it a go! I can fit into my clothes again, my health has improved, I hardly use my Inhalor during sessions or outside of Bootcamp, my headaches have gone and I didn’t realise how bad I was feeling until I had completed the programme & detoxed my body & felt amazing!
